correcting thoughts

"We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity." 2 Corinthians 10:5-6
God is so good. This scripture has been on my heart so much lately. It seems as if it had been really easy for me personally to let thoughts and emotions get the best of me. However, I am thankful for the powerful Word of God and it's unfailing promises keeping me strengthened and filled with confidence and faith in the Lord every day. He's placed it so strong on my heart to make sure that every thought, every emotion falls in line with the Word. It's so easy for us as humans to be caught up in the thoughts of the world, but it also needs to be a constant victory. Our thoughts need to be completely consumed in the Word, consumed in His promises. But until we purpose in our heart to hand our thoughts over to the Lord, it will be difficult to operate in the Spirit to the fullest of our abilities; shaping our thoughts into the Word, into the Christ-like thoughts they are purposed to be. When our thoughts are completely consumed in Him and His Word it will be so much easier to yield to the Holy Spirit...trust in Him...and operate in His likeness. Anything, any sort of obstruction that comes our way...will immediately be defeated and replaced with the Word, His voice. The peaceful and replenishing power of the Lord should constantly be working mightily in what we let ourselves think about. I don't know about you, but I would rather dwell on God's unfailing Word rather than on fear and lies. We have already won, although this can be challenging it is so important. What we dwell on gets into our hearts...and sometimes if something wrong gets placed in our hearts it is difficult to get rid of, but we have an awesome Father full of mercy and grace. He loves us so much and He has given us everything we need to know in the Word to be able to conquer this and overcome these attacks. We all have the mind of Christ, it's just time to receive it and put it into practice. Obeying Him and never getting side tracked with things of this world is what I have purposed in my heart to do. The next time a thought rises that does not line up with the Word pops in my head this scripture is going to be put on repeat until it is completely demolished and dead. No more sin, no more stupid thoughts and pretenses. It's all the Word, all promise, and knowledge of Christ. We need to correct our thought process to the point where we have no problem with what we think on. Correcting it with the Word and what the Lord says.
